On the Next Broadcast of All This Jazz: The Music of the Stars

Dig the next All This Jazz, beginning at 9pm on Saturday the 9th, right here on Public Radio 89.5 / KWGS-FM (and "live streaming" at publicradiotulsa.org).

From Armstrong to Bird, Dizzy to Miles, Brubeck to Scofield, and Mary Lou Williams to Vijay Iyer, every ATJ broadcast offers three hours of modern jazz, both recent and classic, across a range of styles.

And we always employ a theme in the third hour of our show, from 11pm till midnight. This time out, as we listen to an encore edition of a dandy show from last November, that theme will be The Stars Above -- and so we'll hear such classic jazz themes as "Star Dust," "Star Eyes," "When You Wish Upon a Star," and more. Elsewhere in the program, we'll dig tunes from the likable likes of Jeremy Pelt, Charles Lloyd, Gary Peacock (whose newest album appears herewith), and many others.

Join us! If you're a jazz fan, then All This Jazz is all you, and then some.

(Two final points: ATJ playlist data can usually be found here, although you'll have to scroll down a bit...and we also maintain a Facebook page for our show. Thank you. Carry on.)

Scott Gregory started working at Public Radio Tulsa in 2006; he started listening to public radio circa 1980, when he and NPR both marked their tenth birthdays (although only one of them commemorated the occasion with a party at Skate World). Scott became this radio station's Operations Director in the summer of 2023; he also hosts and programs All This Jazz, which airs every Saturday night on Public Radio 89.5-1 from 9pm till midnight.
