Hope you'll join us for the next edition of All This Jazz, beginning at 10pm on Saturday the 1st here on Public Radio 89.5-1. (Note that you can learn more about our show, and always get the latest playlist information, at this link.) We'll also offer, as ever, a 7pm re-broadcast of ATJ on Sunday the 2nd on Jazz 89.5-2, which is Public Radio Tulsa's all-jazz HD Radio channel.
Each week, our two-hour program delivers modern jazz, both recent and classic, right up till midnight. And the second half of our show always carries a theme.
Next time around, on the eve of the 86th Academy Awards, that theme will be Jazz from the Movies. Thus we'll hear Duke Ellington's music for "Anatomy of a Murder" (1959; directed by Otto Preminger), Sonny Rollins' music for "Alfie" (1966; directed by Lewis Gilbert), Herbie Hancock's music for "Round Midnight" (1986; directed by Bertrand Tavernier), and much more.
We'll also hear, in the first half of our show, newly released recordings by saxophonist Javon Jackson and singer Amy Cervini.
Please do tune in!
