It seems Oklahoma is always first in the wrong categories. The Tulsa Hispanic Affairs Commission has learned of one of the latest stats.
Oklahoma ranks number-1 in the national Hispanic Teen Pregnancy rate. The Tulsa Campaign to Prevent Teen Pregnancy’s Marcia Bruno-Todd told the Commission that 58 out of every 1,000 Hispanic births in Oklahoma are to a teenage mother. That number eclipses all other ethnic groups in Oklahoma, according to Bruno-Todd, in the 15-to-19 year-old demographic.
She urged the commission to help with education programs into the Hispanic community.
