Oklahoma Could Be More Family Friendly

cdc.gov

Oklahoma is touted as a great place to raise a family, but when using nearly 50 key indicators of family friendliness, the state doesn’t do well. The new WalletHub report lists Oklahoma in the bottom ten of best and worst states to raise a family. Analyst Jill Gonzalez says the metrics show the Sooner State as ninth worst for families to put down roots.

While Oklahoma did okay in the unemployment rate and percent of families with young children, it ranked poorly in the percentage of families in poverty, separation and divorce rates, and child care costs. Education and health care also ranked below average.
