Oklahoma DEQ Warns of Mold

Oklahoma DEQ

The flooding has left a health hazard in the form of mold. The Oklahoma Department of Environmental Quality’s Erin Hatfield says trying to get rid of mold, while the area is still damp, will not work. She says the area must be dry before any remediation will work.

The DEQ has tips on dealing with mold.

If it seems like your allergies are flaring up. that too could be a reaction to the flooding. Hatfield says mold is a huge irritant and can cause cold like allergies.
