Oklahoma Nears 1,700 Confirmed Cases of COVID-19

Another 160 new cases of COVID-19 were reported Thursday by the Oklahoma State Department of Health, bringing the state's total to 1,684.

One death was reported Thursday, bringing the state's official total to 80 since March 19. A Sequoyah County man 65 or older died from the illness.

Since the outbreak started, 415 people have been hospitalized.

Tulsa County now has 308 confirmed cases of COVID-19 after 15 new ones were reported Thursday. Oklahoma County still has the most cases in the state, 385.

There are still 16 counties without a reported case of the illness.

Health departments are encouraging families to celebrate the upcoming religious holidays virtually, avoiding large gatherings, in order to comply with social distancing guidelines and avoid the spread of COVID-19.
