The Oklahoma State Department of Health reported 15 additional deaths from COVID-19 on Wednesday, bringing the state's death toll to 123 since March 18.
The health department also reported 79 new cases of the illness, bringing the state's total to 2,263. Out of those cases, 510 have been hospitalized.
Four deaths happened in the past day. The other 11 happened between April 3 and Monday.
Most of the deaths were among adults age 65 or older, but two were adults between 18 and 35 years old, and one was a woman between 50 and 64 years old. Three of the newly reported deaths were in Oklahoma County, which now has the highest number of COVID-19 deaths, 22. Tulsa County had two of the newly reported deaths, bringing its total to 21.
Oklahoma, Tulsa and Cleveland counties are still the top three in numbers of cases. There are now just 13 counties without reported cases of COVID-19.
According to the last available report, 1,155 Oklahomans have recovered from COVID-19. The state considers someone "recovered" if they did not die, are not currently hospitalized and it has been at least 14 days since their diagnosis.
