The Oklahoma State Department of Health reported on Friday 1,013 new cases of COVID-19, bringing the state's total to 62,040.

Tulsa County had 181 of Friday's cases. Its total now stands at 13,923, tied with Oklahoma County for most in the state.

The state's seven-day average of new cases, which shows the trend in infections, rose from 782 to 826, its highest point since Aug. 5. The average has risen six straight days.

The seven-day average hit a peak of 1,093 on Aug. 1. When Oklahoma moved to phase three of Gov. Kevin Stitt's reopening plan on June 1, the average was 69 cases.

Tulsa County's seven-day average rose for a third straight day, going from 130 to 140, the highest it's been since Aug. 14. It peaked at 254 on July 30.

The health department reported 11 deaths on Friday, with two identified in the past 24 hours. Nine adults 65 or older died, along with one woman between 50 and 64 years old and one man between 18 and 35 years old. Since March 18, COVID-19 has officially killed 846 Oklahomans.

One death reported Friday was a Tulsa County resident. The county has seen 137 residents die from COVID-19. Oklahoma County has the most deaths, 163.

After receiving new data, the health department revised hospitalization numbers to show the county hit a high of 243 on Monday. Local hospitalization numbers change frequently based on new data. Tulsa County hospitalizations have been trending up overall since the first week of June.

Over the course of the pandemic, 5,061 Oklahomans have been hospitalized for COVID-19.

As of Thursday, the state reported 20% of its adult ICU beds were available.

The state health department reported an additional 676 patients as recovered on Friday, bringing the total to 52,123. Patients are considered to have recovered if they did not die, are not currently hospitalized and it has been at least 14 days since their symptoms began. Symptoms have been reported to linger for several weeks for some individuals.

Tulsa County reported an additional 127 patients as recovered on Friday, bringing the total to 12,229. The county has 1,558 active cases, 54 more than the day before.
