Oklahoma's Real ID Cards Will Be Coming Next Spring

Oklahoma Department of Public Safety

Getting onboard a jetliner or inside a federal building will require a new identification card. Called the Real ID, the cards were federally mandated in the wake of the 9/11 attacks – in 2005 – but Oklahoma has delayed issuing the cards.

The Real ID will replace your Oklahoma Driver’s License. The deadline to have one is October 1st, 2020. Two forms of identification are required to obtain one of these cards, along with a payment of a fee of an, as of right now, undetermined amount. Registration opens May 1st, 2020.
