Performance Oklahoma - Brightmusic Chamber Ensemble

Performance Oklahoma returns to the airwaves in this new Fall season with a brand new lineup of programs showcasing the high caliber, richness and variety of classical music performances taking place across our state. We'll begin our journey together with the Brightmusic Chamber Ensemble now marking their 14th season and offering their fifth chamber music festival this past June celebrating "The Music of Vienna." Over the next four weeks we’ll hear all four concerts presented at the Festival and this week, we'll enjoy Concert 2, given on Saturday, June 11th, all performances taking place at 7:30pm at St. Paul’s Episcopal Cathedral in downtown Oklahoma City. Early works scored for clarinet, cello and piano by Ludwig van Beethoven (Trio in B-flat Major, Op 11 "Gassenhauer") and Alexander von Zemlinsky (Trio in d minor, Op 3) bookend the second concert program and between the two, a late work for violin and piano by Franz Schubert, the beautiful, virtuosic and enigmatic Fantasie in C Major, D 934.

This program airs Saturday evening, 8pm, on Classical 88.7 HD-1.
