Performance Oklahoma: Chamber Music In Oklahoma

The Parker Quartet

"Exceptional virtuosity and imaginative interpretation, they propel the music irresistibly, but with extraordinary grace and flexibility and, above all, they make sense of the music" writes the Washington Post about the Parker Quartet, Blodgett artists in residence at Harvard University and currently the visiting quartet in residence at the University of South Carolina. Inspiring performances, luminous sound, and exceptional musicianship are the hallmarks of the Grammy Award-winning ensemble. Renowned for its dynamic interpretations and polished, expansive colors, the Parker Quartet has rapidly distinguished itself as one of the preeminent ensembles of its generation. In demand worldwide, the Quartet has appeared at the world’s most important venues since its founding in 2002. Appearing as the guest ensemble for the final concert this season presented by Chamber Music in Oklahoma on Sunday, April 22nd at Christ the King Catholic Church in Oklahoma City, the Parker Quartet offered a program of quartets by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, György Ligeti and Jean Sibelius.

This program airs Saturday, May 19th, 2018, 8pm on Classical 88.7 HD-1.
