Performance Oklahoma: The Gryphon Trio

Chamber Music in Oklahoma

Founder's Concert

Celebrating its 25th anniversary, the acclaimed Canadian-based Gryphon Trio has impressed international audiences and the press with its highly refined, dynamic performances and has firmly established itself as one of the world’s preeminent piano trios. With a repertoire that ranges from the traditional to the contemporary and from European classicism to modern-day multimedia, the Gryphons are committed to redefining chamber music for the 21st century. Appearing as the guest ensemble for Chamber Music in Oklahoma’s season opening Founder’s Concert on Sunday, October 7th at Christ the King Catholic Church in Oklahoma City, the Trio presented a program featuring the Trio for Piano and Strings in E-flat Major Op 1, No. 1 by Ludwig van Beethoven, the Piano Trio by Rebecca Clarke and the Trio for Piano and Strings in B Major, Op 8 by Johannes Brahms with insightful commentary offered by the ensemble’s pianist Jamie Parker.

This program airs Saturday, February 16th, 8pm on Classical 88.7 HD-1.
