Performance Oklahoma - OKC Philharmonic Classics 2

Conductor Andrés Franco and violinist Stefan Milenkovich joined the OKC Philharmonic for the second Classics concert of the orchestra’s 28th season, presented on Saturday, October 1st at the Civic Center Music Hall in downtown Oklahoma City. The concert, the first of six projected programs presenting guest conductors auditioning for the position of music director, succeeding founder of the orchestra maestro Joel Levine. Mr. Milenkovich featured in two works by Pablo de Sarasate, the Concert Fantasy on themes from Bizet’s Carmen Op 25 and Zigueunerweisen Op 20, the Philharmonic also performing the Carnival Overture Op 91 by Antonin Dvorak, the overture to The Gypsy Baron by Johann Strauss, Jr. and the suite from the opera Der Rosenkavalier by Richard Strauss.
