Performance Oklahoma: Southeastern Oklahoma State University Musical Arts Series

Fauré Quartett"

Southeastern Oklahoma State University

Musical Arts Series

Gabriel Fauré believed that chamber music was the only true form of music and the most authentic expression of a personality. Taking its namesake’s guiding principle to heart, the German-based Fauré Quartett is now widely regarded as one of today’s leading chamber ensembles. Appearing in concert halls worldwide, “they attract superlatives wherever they go!” writes the Strad following a concert at London’s Wigmore Hall. Appearing as the guest ensemble on Southeastern Oklahoma State University’s Musical Arts Series on Tuesday, April 17th, the Quartett performed the Piano Quartet No. 2 in g minor, Op 45 by Gabriel Fauré , the Piano Quartet in E-flat Major, Op 47 of Robert Schumann and a piece written for them in 2015 by Toshio Hosokawa, “The Water of Lethe.”

This program airs Saturday, December 29th, 8pm on Classical 88.7 HD-1.
