Performance Oklahoma - This week! The OKC Philharmonic

Joel Levine

The OKC Philharmonic offered the final concert of their 28th season on Saturday, April 15th at the Civic Center Music Hall in downtown Oklahoma City. Led by music director Joel Levine, the Philharmonic presented a program showcasing the orchestra’s musicians and featuring the Roman Carnival Overture, Op 9 of Hector Berlioz, the Hungarian Rhapsody No. 1 in f minor for orchestra by Franz Liszt, Percy Grainger’s setting for strings of Londonderry Air and the Symphony No. 5 in e minor, Op 64 of Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky. Following six concerts featuring guest conductors auditioning for the position of music director to succeed Founder and Maestro Levine as he prepares to retire, the season finale concert and this broadcast have been highly anticipated and appreciated by the Philharmonic's supporters, audiences and fans.

This program airs Saturday, May 20th, 8pm on Classical 88.7 HD-1.
