On this edition of ST, we welcome Daniel Hege back to our show. Hege is the Principal Guest Conductor for the Tulsa Symphony Orchestra, and tomorrow night, Saturday the 16th, he'll again hold the baton as the TSO presents a concert entitled "Dreams and Revolution." This stylistically diverse concert begins at 7:30pm, and it's described like so at the TSO website (where you'll also find information on ticket availability as well as other performances): "Hege returns to the podium to conduct Mozart's Clarinet Concerto in A Major featuring Tulsa Symphony's Principal Clarinet, David Carter. The concert opens with Debussy's ethereal tone poem, Prelude to the Afternoon of a Faun, which paints dreamlike impressions of desire. What the faun sought in love, the revolutionaries sought in freedom in Shostakovich's Symphony No.11 in G minor ('The Year 1905'), which employs folk melodies in orchestration reminiscent of film scores of the 1950s."
