Restaurant Opening Highlights Blue Dome Growth

Growth continues in Tulsa's Blue Dome District with the opening of Albert G's Bar & Q Downtown.

"It's real nice to be a part — you know, another local restaurant, you know, expanding this downtown area," said general manager Ryan Day. "We're just really privileged to be a part of it and excited to be part of the nightlife as well."

The new location is a full-service restaurant offering a bigger menu, dozens of beers and bourbons, and later weekend hours. Day said the restaurant will be open until at least 11 p.m. on weekends.

Tulsa Regional Chamber Director of Downtown Development Delise Tomlinson said Tulsa needs these sorts of businesses to attract new residents, employers and visitors.

"We're competing against places like Chicago, and Denver, and Dallas, and even Oklahoma City," Tomlinson said. "And so we have to keep making sure that what we have here to offer people is very attractive."

The new restaurant is at 421 E First St. in a renovated machine shop. It's an expansion of the original Albert G's, which is at 28th Street and Harvard Avenue.
