Oklahoma City, OK – Starting on Monday, June 8, more than 80 paintings that are part of the State Senate Art Collection will be taken off the State Capitol walls to be shipped to the Gilcrease Museum in Tulsa. The collection will be on display at the museum from July through October.

The movers will work beginning Monday and are expected to finishing packing up the paintings by about Wednesday. We'll issue a full press release Monday, along with audio interviews with former State Senator Charles Ford, who began the organization responsible for the Senate Art Collection, as well as the Executive Director of the Gilcrease Museum. We're also planning on taking photos of some of the paintings being packed.

To read more about the Senate Art Collection, look at images of the paintings and learn more about the artists and the individuals and locations represented in the artwork, go to www.oksenate.gov.
