Snow Falls; 3" Possible in Tulsa

KWGS News

A wintry mix of precipitation is expected across eastern Oklahoma and western
Arkansas Today. A mixture of rain and snow will transition to all snow by
mid-morning across northeast Oklahoma, mainly to the north of Interstate 44
with the transition to all snow taking place later this morning and into
early this Afternoon south of interstate 44 and into northwest Arkansas.

The precipitation is expected to remain all rain across extreme southeast Oklahoma
and portions of west-central Arkansas. A Winter Weather Advisory is in place until
6 pm for much of northeast Oklahoma and northwest Arkansas where 1 to 4 inches of
snow will be possible. The heaviest snowfall totals are expected to be north of
Interstate 44 across northeast Oklahoma where 2 to 4 inches of snow will be possible.

Most of the accumulating snow will be on grassy and elevated surfaces which could lead
to slick spots on bridges and overpasses Today in the advisory area. The precipitation
will taper off from west to east later this Afternoon and evening.
