Tulsa, Oklahoma – On our show today, we speak with Murry Sidlin, who's worked as a conductor, music instructor, and/or music director at prestigious venues throughout the country. Tomorrow night (Saturday the 9th) at the TCC PACE, Sidlin will serve as guest conductor for the Signature Symphony in a Signature Classics rendering of "The Defiant Requiem: Verdi at Terezin." This is an internationally acclaimed multimedia presentation of Verdi's masterwork that functions as both a concert and a dramatic work. As such, it memorably and beautifully conveys how the Requiem was performed 16 times in 1943 and 1944 by prisoners at the Terezin Concentration Camp. Saturday's performance will include the combined choirs of the Signature Chorale, the Bartlesville Choral Society, and the University of Tulsa Chorale, as well as guest actors and soloists.
