Tulsa, Oklahoma – On today's show, we are discussing the federally-funded and widely-acclaimed Teach for America program. Our guest is Lance Tackett, who oversees Teach for America in Tulsa (a program that first got underway, locally, about two years ago). The program has brought about 150 grade school teachers into the Tulsa community --- as drawn from some of the best colleges and universities all over the nation --- and an additional 75 are now being trained. Moreover, plans have recently been announced to expand Teach for America into Oklahoma City in the fall of 2011 --- and the program will also be celebrating its 20th anniversary at a weekend summit in Washington, DC, in February.
