Tulsa Police Set Gun Recovery Record

Tulsa Police-Facebook

Tulsa Police set a record for recovering guns from lawbreakers with a crackdown on gangs. Officer Leland Ashley says the Organized Gang Unit has confiscated 177 firearms this year, beating the previous record of 163 in 2009.

A Safe Tulsa grant helped pay for officers’ time in the gun recovery effort. The grant money is earmarked strictly for fighting criminal street gangs.
