Tulsa Reception During Sundance to Highlight The Outsiders House Museum

Sundance Film Festival

The Tulsa Office of Film, Music, Arts & Culture will present its second annual Film Tulsa reception during the 2019 Sundance Film Festival. The January 28th reception in Park City, Utah, will promote northeast Oklahoma as a destination for film production and highlight The Outsiders House Museum.

“In addition to promoting Tulsa as a film destination, we wanted to draw attention to a local attraction that encompasses Tulsa’s amazing creativity,” said Wendy Drummond, chair of Tulsa FMAC. “Danny Boy O’Connor’s hard work and dedication to bringing The Outsiders House Museum to life.

O’Connor, a member of the hip-hop group House of Pain, relocated to Tulsa in 2016 to restore the house featured prominently in Francis Ford Coppola’s 1983 film.

“The creative energy that this city fosters is tremendous,” said Danny Boy O’Connor. “I couldn't imagine being anywhere else than right here, right now, in Tulsa."

The Film Tulsa reception will be held at the Beyond Cinema Studio at Meyer Gallery. The venue will provide an opportunity for meetings between attendees from around the world and members of Tulsa’s creative community. Tulsa’s own Bandelier will provide live music during the event. Partners in the reception include Leigh and John Reaves, Cherokee Nation, Circle Cinema, and Kirkpatrick and Kinslow Productions.
