Tulsa Sheriff Dismisses Lawsuit Against DOC

File photo

The Tulsa Sheriff’s Office has decided NOT to pursue a lawsuit against the Oklahoma Department of Corrections further. Major Shannon Clark says Sheriff Glanz has decided to dismiss the pending lawsuit against the DOC. Clark says since the takeover of Robert Patton as DOC Director, state ready inmates have been accepted in a more timely manner.

The backup of state inmates was costing Tulsa County money, but Sheriffs in smaller population centers complained they counted on the DOC money paid to hold state ready inmates, and the speed-up hurt their budgets.
