The Tulsa Symphony Orchestra Offers a "Spirit & Awakenings" Concert with Sarah Ioannides at the Helm

On this edition of ST, we chat with Sarah Ioannides, who currently is the conductor for the Tacoma Symphony Orchestra, and who's been described by The New York Times as a conductor of "unquestionable strength and authority." Ioannides will be the guest conductor for the Tulsa Symphony Orchestra tomorrow night, Saturday the 20th, when the TSO presents its next concert. That performance, beginning at 7:30pm the Tulsa PAC, is entitled "Spirit & Awakenings." And it will feature an impressive program: Respighhi's settings for "Three Chorale Preludes" by Bach, "Symphony No. 5" by Felix Mendelssohn, and "Symphony No. 6" by Beethoven. Rich Fisher passed through KWGS about thirty years ago, and just never left. Today, he is the general manager of Public Radio Tulsa, and the host of KWGS’s public affairs program, StudioTulsa, which celebrated its twentieth anniversary in August 2012 .
