Tulsa, Oklahoma – On this edition of StudioTulsa, we hear from two artists whose work will be featured this evening (Thursday the 28th) at two different events here in the city. Our first guest on the show today is Jeffrey Hogue, a Bartlesville-based artist with a solo exhibition of 13 new paintings opening tonight at the Joseph Gierek Fine Art gallery on East 15th Street (a/k/a "Cherry Street"). Hogue's new show is entitled "Prairie Noir." (For more information in this show, and to view high-resolution reproductions of some of Hogue's paintings, please visit www.gierek.com.) The second guest on our program is the artist Harrod Blank. He's an "art car" artist as well as a filmmaker, and his new movie, "Automorphosis," will be shown tonight at the Living Arts gallery in downtown Tulsa (at 308 South Kenosha). This film's screening caps off the gallery's recent Art Car Weekend, Art Car Parade, etc. --- and you can learn more, and see plenty of pics, at http://livingarts.org/artcar.htm.
