This week on Performance Oklahoma: ENCORE Edition Three from OK Mozart 2015

OK Mozart has just announced the musical artists and programs to be featured in its 2016 Festival.  To help celebrate the Festival's 32nd season we'll enjoy an encore of Edition Three of the 2015 OK Mozart radio broadcast series!   

Continuing its mission to offer a high quality music and cultural Festival for Oklahoma audiences, OK Mozart marked its 31st season this past June, taking a musical trip to Italy, https://www.kucofm.com/sites/kcsc/uploads/images/PerfOk/JonKimuraParker2.jpgthe place where 17 year old Wolfgang received the Papal Order of the Knight of the Golden Spur for his extraordinary musical gifts.  Presented June 6ththrough the 13th, Festival 2015 offered a series of orchestral concerts, chamber music performances and a semi-staged production of Mozart’s opera Don Giovanni, as well as a full program of related cultural activities in its showcase events.  Recorded concerts are held at the Bartlesville Community Center and St. Luke's Episcopal Church and just this past summer, OK Mozart renovated itshttps://www.kucofm.com/sites/kcsc/uploads/images/PerfOk/Louise_Owen_2446.jpgoffices and opened a new small concert venue, Aurora Hall in downtown Bartlesville.    

In the third program of a four part snapshot series created to showcase performances from both orchestral and chamber music concerts, pianist Jon Kimura Parker performs Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 12 in A Major, K 414 with the Aeolus Quartet and violinist Louise Owen – a.k.a. the "Kitchen Fiddler" offers the Partita No. 3 in E Major, BWV 1006 of Johann Sebastian Bach. The newly formed OK Mozart All-State Youth Orchestra plays the Intermezzo from Act II of Madama Butterfly by Giacomo Puccini and Ottorino Respighi’s Pines of Rome

, in the concert "A Musical Tour of Italy, appearing with Amici New York who also join forces with Mr. Parker to present the Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini, Op 43 by Sergei Rachmaninov, the Intermezzo, a special entr'acte feature in this week's program!
