This Week On Performance Oklahoma: The Gryphon Trio

Marking its 20th anniversary in 2013, the Gryphon Trio has impressed international audiences and the press with its highly refined, dynamic performances and has firmly established itself as one of the world’s preeminent piano trios. With a repertoire that ranges from the traditional to the contemporary and from European classicism to modern-day multimedia, the trio’s members are committed to redefining chamber music for the 21st century. Appearing on the final concert offered this season by Chamber Music in Oklahoma, the ensemble presented an all French program of piano trios on Sunday, April 10th at Christ the King Catholic Church in Oklahoma City, performing the Trio in G Major by Claude Debussy, the Trio No. 3 in a minor, Op 26 by Edouard Lalo and the Trio in a minor by Maurice Ravel.

Celebrating 56 years of bringing nationally and internationally recognized chamber music ensembles to Oklahoma City, Chamber Music in Oklahomais a non-profit civic organization begun in 1960.  Made up of volunteers and sustained by the support of its members, audiences and a number of community entities the series offers a five-concert season held on Sundays at 4:00pm from October through April at Christ the King Catholic Church in Oklahoma City.

This program airs Saturday, May 14th, 8pm on Classical 88.7 HD-1.
