"We'll Have Manhattan" -- All This Jazz Offers a Musical Portrait of Dear Ol' Noo Yawk

Do join us for the next installment of All This Jazz, which begins at 10pm on Saturday the 22nd, right here on Public Radio 89.5...and online, via live stream, at PublicRadioTulsa.org. (We'll also offer, as always, a 7pm re-broadcast of ATJ on Sunday the 23rd on Jazz 89.5-2, which is our station's all-jazz HD Radio channel.)

Each and every week, our program delivers mighty fine modern jazz, both recent and classic, right up till midnight -- from Cannonball Adderley, Louis Armstrong, and Geri Allen to John Zorn, Denny Zeitlin, and Joe Zawinul.

This edition of our show is an encore presentation of a program that originally aired in September of last year, when our second-hour theme was Jazz Tunes Re: NYC. It's a terrific (and terrifically wide-ranging) evening of music, abso-friggin'-lutely, with memorable tracks from Kenny Barron, Donald Byrd, Kenny Werner, Eric Reed, and others. And the Big Apple-inspired soundscape in the latter half of the program is simply Not To Be Missed.

Hope you can tune in.

(And finally, the latest playlist data for our radio show can always be found here...and our Facebook page is at this link. Thank you.)

Scott Gregory started working at Public Radio Tulsa in 2006; he started listening to public radio circa 1980, when he and NPR both marked their tenth birthdays (although only one of them commemorated the occasion with a party at Skate World). Scott became this radio station's Operations Director in the summer of 2023; he also hosts and programs All This Jazz, which airs every Saturday night on Public Radio 89.5-1 from 9pm till midnight.
