Wild Fire South of Tulsa!

Bixby and Tulsa Fire Fighters battle a wild fire southwest of the intersection of 121st and South Sheridan.

Thick black smoke could be seen for miles shortly after the fire broke out. At one point,  the National Weather Service was tracking the fire on its weather radar. The area is mostly pasture and rough terrain just north of the Arkansas River. No homes or structures appear to be in danger.

The intense heat made fighting the blaze even more hazardous for fire fighters. EMSA set up an ambulance on 121st.

The Tulsa Fire Department sent out a Tweet saying the National Air Guard was assisting in the fight. The fire may have been started by someone ignoring the Tulsa County Burn Ban.
