Strong west to southwest winds will develop across eastern

Oklahoma and northwest Arkansas by midday and will continue into the afternoon. Wind gusts between 35 and 45 mph are expected, with the strongest gusts across northeast Oklahoma where a wind advisory is in effect.

The strong winds and drier air moving into the region behind a front will yield an elevated fire weather danger, mainly across eastern Oklahoma.

Strong and gusty northwest winds are expected on Sunday. Gusts between 25 and 35 mph will be possible. The strong winds will yield limited fire weather danger conditions across portions of eastern Oklahoma.
