Commonwealth Club of California on 89.5-1

Wednesday 12pm

With the sound of a gavel striking three times, another Commonwealth Club program begins. Each week, The Commonwealth Club's radio programs bring important and interesting speakers to audiences across the country. The program is the oldest continuous radio program in the United States.

Founded in 1903, The Commonwealth Club has played host to a broad and distinctive array of speakers, from Teddy Roosevelt in 1911 to Nancy Pelosi in 2010. Just a sampling of other noteworthy guests includes Martin Luther King, Jr., Ronald Reagan, Bill Clinton, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Walter Cronkite, Ted Turner, Jane Goodall, Tom Brokaw, Bill Gates, David Brooks, Hillary Rodham Clinton, Alec Baldwin, and Reza Aslan, all of whom have delivered landmark speeches here.
