"This Will Not Pass: Trump, Biden, and the Battle for America's Future"

Aired on Thursday, May 26th.
Aired on Thursday, May 26th.

"The authors are tireless reporters, and the book's impact lies less in any headline revelations than in the accumulation of small details that can almost seem routine but that reveal the deeper condition of American democracy.... It's a document of decline and fall -- a chronicle that should cause future readers to ponder how American leaders in the early 21st century lost the ability and will to govern." -- The Atlantic

Our guest is Jonathan Martin, a national political correspondent for The New York Times and political analyst for CNN. He's also the co-author of the bestselling "This Will Not Pass: Trump, Biden, and the Battle for America's Future," which was first published a few weeks ago, amid much fanfare, and which is already widely seen as the definitive account of both the 2020 election and the first year of Biden's presidency. As was noted in The Wall Street Journal: "[This book] captures the insularity of Washington and the closed-off nature of the conversations that consume it. It is deeply reported, with sourcing from both parties and criticisms of both, which is refreshing. It also captures both parties' refusal to be honest with their own voters." Please note that Martin will be in Tulsa talking about this book (and signing copies of it) tonight, Thursday the 26th, at 7pm at Congregation B'nai Emunah (near 17th and Peoria). You can learn more about this free event, which is being presented by Magic City Books, at this link.
