LOOK Celebrates Its 30th Season with "Hello, Dolly!" and Other Great Shows

LOOK Musical Theatre, a revered nonprofit that began as the Gilbert & Sullivan Society of Tulsa (with "LOOK" later signifying Light Opera Oklahoma) is currently marking its 30th season; the organization was founded in 1983 by John and Jane Carmichael Everitt in association with The University of Tulsa. Every June, LOOK presents professional performances in repertory fashion; these shows are produced and staffed by dozens of professionals: artistic, technical, and marketing personnel from regions both local and national. Our guest is LOOK's Artistic Director, Eric Gibson, who tells us about the new season, which gets underway tonight --- Friday the 14th, at the Tulsa PAC --- with the opening presentation of "Hello, Dolly!" The other two shows LOOK is offering this time around are "The Drowsy Chaperone" and "Side by Side by Sondheim." (For more about show times, performance dates, ticket availability, and so forth, you can visit the LOOK website. Or simply call the Tulsa PAC Box Office at 918-596-7111.) Also on today's show, our commentator Barry Friendman tells a strange but true (and reluctantly pet-friendly) anecdote that he calls, for reasons that will become clear as you listen to the piece, "Cat Man Did."
