Mayoral Candidates on StudioTulsa

KWGS News

The candidates for mayor will debate the issues on today's StudioTulsa program. Recorded before the Tulsa Kiwanis yesterday, former Mayor Kathy Taylor says if elected Tulsa residents will be getting a refund.

KATHY TAYLOR: "It is time to get back to basics. In my first 100 days in office, I will work to refund the green waste fees."

She was referring to the trash issue, where Tulsans thought they were paying to have green waste mulched, but instead it was being taken to the trash to energy plant and converted into steam.

Mayor Bartlett told the gathering Tulsa needs continuity in city hall leadership.

DEWEY BARTLETT: "If we look at other cities that have great success, we see that they have had that continuity leadership."

Tulsa had four different mayors from 2000 to 2010.

You may hear the entire debate this morning at 11:30am on StudioTulsa and a replay tonight at 7:30pm. We have also made the program available to hear; see above.
