On this installment of StudioTulsa, we speak with James Wagner, the Chief of Performance Strategy and Innovation in Tulsa Mayor G.T. Bynum's newly formed administration. Mr. Wagner was previously the principal transportation planner for the Indian Nations Council of Governments (or INCOG), and he appeared on this program several times in that capacity. Whether it's mass transit or bike lanes, sidewalks or bus schedules, he certainly does "know his stuff" when it comes to transportation and city life, and behind that knowledge is an ongoing thirst for statistics, a reliance upon detailed data. Indeed, and Mr. Wagner explains, City Hall will be making a concerted effort over the next several months to harness as much data as possible in order to improve -- clearly and demonstrably -- the quality of life in this community. And Mr. Wagner's new post means that he'll be both coordinating and spearheading this effort. Also on today's show, our commentator Connie Cronley is now at war with certain machines. Commonplace machines, admittedly -- like her fridge, or her internet service -- but nasty and relentless foes nonetheless.
