ST Medical Monday: A Conversation with Deborah Hunter, the Tulsa-Based Social Worker and Poet

Aired on Monday, December 17th.

On this edition of our program, we offer an engaging conversatiuon with Deborah Hunter, a Behavioral Health Rehab Specialist and Case Manager at Family & Children's Services here in Tulsa. She's been with F&CS since 2011, and she is also a longtime and award-winning poet. Interestingly, Hunter also works as a social worker for the Tulsa City-County Library, mainly at the TCCL's Central Branch (and 5th and Denver). She tells us about her work at the libary -- helping library visitors who are confronting homelessness, joblessness, mental illness, food insecurity, and other issues -- and also shares a couple of her poems.

Rich Fisher is celebrating his 40th year of service to Public Radio Tulsa. Since 2000, he has been the general manager of Public Radio Tulsa, and previously served as the host of the public affairs program, StudioTulsa, which ran from 1992-2021. Prior to that, he served as music director, a program host and operations director for the station.
