Ten Books
By Rebecca Howard

A friend with unrelenting insomnia stumbled upon a little literary gem known as One Grand: Desert Island Books. Their “About Us” description reads: a curated bookstore in which celebrated thinkers, writers, artists, and other creative minds share the ten books they would take to their metaphorical desert island…”

Um. What?

I deeply believe in the power of reading. Reading fiction, I think, is especially powerful. I understand that this statement reflects my bias, but I think when you are reading for clarity, sense-making, and empathy, fiction reigns. For me fiction allows for a more deeply personal connection between reader and story.

It’s Back-to-School! with Jonathan Franzen
By Rebecca Howard
Tulsa City-County Library

Before we dive into lots of facts and figures, let’s just say this:  YOU DID IT.  Thanks to your donations, large and small, we met our Spring Fund Drive Goal! Here’s how:

How many times do you have the opportunity to grow BOTH a public radio station AND a forest?

We know that you are deeply concerned about the health and sustainability of our planet.  You’re also passionate about the intelligent and thoughtful news and music you hear on Public Radio Tulsa.

How many times do you have the opportunity to grow BOTH a public radio station AND a forest?

We know that you are deeply concerned about the health and sustainability of our planet.  You’re also passionate about the intelligent and thoughtful news and music you hear on Public Radio Tulsa.

So this Giving Tuesday, November 27th, we’re making it easy to support BOTH.

Pretty quiet year so far, am I right?

Just kidding.  It’s been nuts.

Hearings…fires…elections…tweets.  Complex issues have come fast and furious in 2018, with possibly the biggest stories yet to come.  And no one – NO ONE – plays a greater role in Public Radio Tulsa’s ability to provide in-depth, rigorous news coverage than YOU, through your contributions.

Saying Thanks with a Pint and a Party!

Lush pansies from Southwood.  Twenty years of Wait, Wait…Don’t Tell Me!  And a pint glass that comes with its own party!

This fall, check out these great gifts and let us say “thanks!” for supporting public radio in northeast Oklahoma!  Make your gift here!

Thank you for taking YOUR stand with the facts.

You make a difference. You make Public Radio Tulsa possible.

Thank you for supporting Public Radio Tulsa all year long and most recently during the Fall Fund Drive. You'll hear your contribution in the fact-based reporting, in-depth and compelling storytelling, and unforgettable music.

PRT Tulsa

Here at Public Radio Tulsa we have 100,000 listeners and growing, 3,000 members, and 267 of you attended our Southwood Member Party on Monday, June 19, 2017. We had perfect summer weather for a memorable evening and celebrating…YOU! We loved connecting with old friends and meeting some of you for the first time!

Many of you have thanked us and Southwood for the party:

A BIG shout-out to the nearly 100 listeners who made their very first donations during our 10 Days/100 New Members Drive in June!  Your contributions helped Public Radio Tulsa end our fiscal year strong.  Thanks to all of you who became Public Radio Tulsa supporters.  (Not a member yet?  We still have New Member gifts!)

Over the first ten days of June, we shared a message: Public Radio Tulsa membership is for EVERYONE.  Whether your gift is $10 or $1,000, your support is vital and valued.

We had SO much fun last night! So much fun!

A gigantic thank you to ALL of our friends at Southwood Landscape and Garden! You hosted a spectacular Public Radio Tulsa Member Thank You Party! We had great weather, food, drinks, music, door prizes, members and an all-around GREAT time. Plus, everyone got to do a little sale shopping!

Party Updates!

Jun 16, 2017

We love you! All of you! And we wish every single one of you could come Monday night!

The outpouring of people registering have exceeded our expectations and our space capacity. We are now at 300 people attending the Southwood Member Thank You Party!

Unfortunately, registration is now CLOSED for the event. We promise there will be more parties!

But wait, there are more party announcements!!

Something special just for YOU!

How many times over the course of 10 days do you find yourself saying to someone, “Hey, I heard this GREAT story on Morning Edition”…or wind up sitting in your driveway for 15 minutes so you don’t miss a second of RadioLab?  If you’re a public radio fan, and if you’re not already a contributing member of Public Radio Tulsa, the first 10 days of June are for YOU.  It’s our “10 Days/100 NEW Members” drive.

We asked.  You answered.

Now, let us say “Thanks!” with a summertime party just for YOU, Monday evening, June 19, 2017!

Your financial support over the last 12 months has been nothing short of amazing, including a record-breaking Spring Fund Drive.  Over and over, we’ve heard from listeners who’ve said how grateful they are for the balanced, fact-based news and analysis, and brilliant music they hear on Public Radio Tulsa.  Now it’s time to celebrate the people who make this possible:  Our listener contributors!

10 days.

In the span of ten days, just imagine all you’ll hear on Public Radio Tulsa.

Rigorous, fact-based news.  Respectful discussion.  Rich storytelling.  The very best in classical, jazz, folk, and western swing music.  Wait, Wait…Don’t Tell Me (twice!).

You rely on the unparalleled news, conversation, and music on Public Radio Tulsa.  And we rely on YOU, standing shoulder-to-shoulder with us in support of public radio.

100,000 Listeners, but…

Dear Friend,

Thank you for listening and for your continuing financial support of Public Radio Tulsa. This has been a year of farewells and welcomes for your public radio station. Earlier this year, we said farewell to Talk of the Nation, which sadly ended after 22 years, and welcomed Here and Now, a new midday news program from WBUR and NPR. The same was true for our reporter Catherine Roberts, who is now producing a program for WAMU in Washington, but last month, we welcomed Matt Trotter to our staff. Matt is a welcome addition to our local news initiative.

It's listeners like you who keep public broadcasting on the airwaves through generous financial support. The Fund Drive isn't over! We're close to reaching our $200,000 goal. Help put us over-the-top. Contribute Online Now.
