The facility that will house and exhibit more than 100,000 artifacts created and owned by folk singer Bob Dylan will open May 10, 2022.

The Bob Dylan Center will be in the Tulsa Arts District, facing Guthrie Green and steps away from the Woody Guthrie Center.

The George Kaiser Family Foundation and University of Tulsa acquired the Bob Dylan Archive in 2016. Items in it include handwritten manuscripts, previously unreleased recordings and rare photographs.

Updated July 15, 10:05 a.m.: References to the Tulsa Regional Chamber were changed to Tulsa Regional Tourism. A Tulsa Regional Tourism spokesperson clarified while the organization is an arm of the chamber, it is pursuing the initiatives and supporting a mask requirement independently of the chamber.

Tulsa Regional Tourism has an initiative in the works to get tourists back to the area.

American Public Media has announced that it is ending production of Live From Here, the successor program to A Prairie Home Companion, heard Saturday evenings at 5:00pm and Sunday afternoons at 1:00pm on KWGS 89.5 FM.

While no new shows will be created, APM will allow stations to broadcast repeats of Live From Here for the next several months.  During that time, Public Radio Tulsa will evaluate programs to replace Live From Here.

For nearly a month, the Public Radio Tulsa studios have been closed to everyone but the news team. This means that many of the local shows on 88.7 and 89.5 have been in reruns for the past few weeks. My own show, Classical Tulsa, was in that same boat – until now, that is: I’ve just finished setting up a home studio, so I can record new episodes while I shelter in place!

Apr 5, 2018

I just wanted to say thank you to everyone who supported our Spring Fund Drive on KWTU last month. For me, it was more than just a wonderful opportunity to make the case for supporting Public Radio Tulsa; it was also a chance to play some of my favorite recordings for you on Classical 88.7.
