Tulsa, Oklahoma – Today on ST, we chat with Andrei Markovits, a professor of Comparative Politics and German Studies at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. Markovitz has studied, written about, and lectured on a range of subjects, including German and Austrian politics, anti-Semitism, European anti-Americanism, social democracies, social movements, and the European right and left --- oh, and also: comparative sports at the international level. It's this last-named topic that Markovits is exploring with us on today's program; in particular, we're discussing his latest book, "Gaming the World: How Sports Are Reshaping Global Politics and Culture." Professor Markovitz will give a free-to-the-public lecture on sports and politics in Chapman Hall on the TU campus on Monday the 11th at 5pm.
