Unemployment Figures

Oklahoma City, OK – OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) The unemployment rate in Sequoyah County in southeast Oklahoma reached 12 percent in February, the highest among the state's 77 counties.

The Oklahoma Employment Security Commission on Wednesday released a county-by-county breakdown of the state's unemployment data. The report shows Latimer County at 11.6 percent and McCurtain County at 11.5 percent had the highest rates in the state. All three counties are in southeast Oklahoma.

Beaver County in northwest Oklahoma again reported the lowest rate at 3.5 percent, followed by Harper County at 4.1 percent and Woods County at 4.3 percent.

Among the state's three metropolitan areas, Tulsa had the highest unemployment rate at 8.1 percent, followed by Oklahoma City at 6.7 percent and Lawton with 5.9 percent.
