En id, OK – Okla governor candidates discuss issues at forum

ENID, Okla. (AP) Oklahoma's six candidates for governor all oppose tax increases to boost the state budget, but they had different ideas about issues like immigration and high-speed rail.

Democrats Jari Askins and Drew Edmondson and Republicans Mary Fallin, Randy Brogdon, Robert Hubbard and Roger Jackson participated in a forum Wednesday in Enid.

The candidates are vying to replace term-limited Gov. Brad Henry. They said they favor streamlining state government as opposed to tax increases to support state programs.

Differences emerged, however, when they discussed Arizona's new law targeting illegal immigrants.

While all expressed frustration with a lack of federal immigration policy, Askins and Edmondson say Arizona's law may be flawed.
