Tulsa, OK – Ex-Okla police officer pleads guilty in drug case

TULSA, Okla. (AP) A former Tulsa police officer has pleaded guilty to two drug counts.

Thirty-eight-year-old Travis Ludwig entered pleas Friday to possession of a controlled drug, a felony, and possession of drug paraphernalia, a misdemeanor.

Tulsa County District Judge Kurt Glassco made no finding of guilt and will formally sentence Ludwig Nov. 10.

Defense attorney Paul Brunton said he'll request a deferred sentence, which would give Ludwig the chance to have the case dismissed without any felony conviction if he completes probation. Assistant District Attorney Tony Evans, however, said he'll request some prison time for Ludwig.

Prosecutors alleged that cocaine, paraphernalia and cash were found when Ludwig's patrol car, duffel bag and Collinsville home were searched in September.

He resigned from his job Feb. 29.
