Trust Effort Moves Forward

Tulsa, OK – TULSA, Okla. (AP) The United Band of Cherokee Indians is being allowed to go forward with an application to put 76 acres of land in federal trust. The Tulsa World reports the Tahlequah-based tribe wants to put in trust its community services land. The land currently has the tribe's dance grounds, community gathering and celebration place, elder center and other centers.
