Fairland, OK – 3 men hurt at mill improving at Oklahoma hospital
FAIRLAND, Okla. (AP) An eastern Oklahoma contractor says three Missouri men who were burned in an explosion at a Fairland mill are improving and may be released from a Tulsa hospital soon.
Anderson, Mo., residents Spike Bequette and John Rosenbohm, and Chad Slinkard of Jane, Mo., were injured at the Simmons Feed Mill Wednesday.
Officials say the men, employees of Mid-America Repair Service of Jay, were using cutting torches to cut grain bins below ground level when grain dust exploded. The men climbed out of the pit through a manhole.
Mid-America Repair Service owner Jim McNeely told the Tulsa World that Rosenbohm had injuries similar to a "bad sunburn," but otherwise had no blisters or third-degree burns.
McNeely says the other two men were in better condition at Hillcrest Medical Center on Thursday.
