Tulsa, OK – TULSA, Okla. (AP) Schools in Tulsa are reopen after being shut down for two weeks because of winter storms that dumped heavy snow in northeastern Oklahoma.
Schools in have been closed since the first heavy snow on February first. Another storm system brought more snow last week.
School officials must figure out a way to make up for the lost class time.
Among the options are adding days to the end of the school year, increasing the amount of time students are in class each day and holding class during previously scheduled breaks or holidays.
Oklahoma law requires either 175 class days or 1,050 hours of instruction time.
