Ripley City, OK – Okla man run over, injured by van he was pushing
RIPLEY CITY, Okla. (AP) Authorities say a Cushing man was injured when a van he fell while trying to get into a van he was pushing down a hill near Ripley City.
The Oklahoma Department of Public Safety says 52-year-old Bernard Everett Hawkwing was hurt Saturday morning when the full-size van crushed him.
The agency says Hawkwing suffered internal injuries to his torso and hurt an arm and a leg.
Police say Hawkwing was pushing the van on Oklahoma Highway 33 and tried to get in as the vehicle picked up speed.
A left rear tire went over Hawkwing after he got caught on the vehicle and went under it. He was in stable condition at a Cushing hospital.
