Calumet, OK – Tanker truck accident kills 1 in central Oklahoma
CALUMET, Okla. (AP) Authorities say the driver of a tanker truck was killed when the vehicle overturned near Calumet and caught fire.
The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says the tractor-trailer accident occurred about 6:10 a.m. Friday on U.S. Highway 270 in Canadian County.
Troopers say the driver veered onto the shoulder, over corrected, spun around and overturned.
Authorities say the truck was carrying fuel and caught fire. Traffic was shut down in both directors as brush pumpers were brought in to extinguish the flames.
