Mangum, OK – Okla. warden's wife asks judge to dismiss charge
OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) The attorney for the wife of a former Oklahoma prison warden accused of helping a convicted killer escape 17 years ago has filed a new motion to have the charge dismissed.
Attorney Garvin Isaacs filed the motions Monday in Greer County District Court, where Bobbi Parker is on trial for allegedly helping inmate Randolph Franklin Dial break out of the Oklahoma State Reformatory in Granite on Aug. 30, 1994. Parker's husband, Randy Parker, was deputy warden at the time.
The dismissal motion says Bobbi Parker cannot get a fair trial because of errors in her trial. They allegedly include contact between a prosecution witness, Charles Sasser, and members of Parker's 12-member jury following Sasser's testimony last week.
Isaacs also filed a motion for a mistrial citing Sasser's contact with jurors.
