Tulsa, OK – Texas Governor Rick Perry brings his quest for the White House to Tulsa. He met with reporters mid-afternoon at the Tulsa Press Club.
He called for more development of domestic natural gas fields to lessen our dependence on foreign oil. He says Washington must do all it can to increase domestic energy exploration.
During the Tulsa stop, Perry picked up his first endorsement from a U-S Senator. Jim Inhofe pledged to back Perry in the 2012 races.
TULSA, Okla. (AP) Republican presidential hopeful Rick Perry says there would be no stimulus programs if he is elected to lead the country. Speaking in Tulsa, Okla., on Monday, Perry said he has a plan to free America from an "economic disaster" and that he will "get America working again." He appealed to the country's "entrepreneurial spirit" to create jobs and let them flourish. He also said American workers should be allowed to keep more of what they make. The Texas governor also called for additional development of the U.S. nuclear energy industry so the country can become as energy independent as possible. He said there was no more important area to work on as a nation.
